2022 Thursday Night Football, Week 4: Miami Dolphins @ Cincinnati Bengals

This week's Thursday night game features the unbeaten 3-0 Miami Dolphins against the defending AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals.

The Dolphins are riding high after upsetting the red-hot Buffalo Bills on Sunday. They also defeated the Patriots 20-7 in Week One and survived a shootout against Baltimore in Week Two.

In his first year at the helm, head coach Mike McDaniel seems to have put together a potent offense. There is a deep group of running backs who will see playing time, and passing game has gone up a notch--largely due to the speed of receivers Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill and the drastic improvement of third-year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Meanwhile, Cincinnati off to a rough start at 1-2 on the season. The Bengals still have lethal playmakers on offense, but the attempted improvements in the offensive line have not worked. Joe Burrow has been running for his life, and an offense cannot function well in that situation. Luckily, the team looked much better in a win on Sunday.

While the obvious appeal in this one comes from the offenses, I'm interested to see how Miami's defense holds up. Over recent seasons, it has been an incredibly opportunistic unit-- coming up with turnovers at the perfect times and giving the offense every opportunity to seize the game. But, that "bend but don't break" mentality can only go so far. The Dolphins held Buffalo's offense out of the endzone but did give up plenty of yardage.

We already know that Cincinnati's defense can be exploited in the secondary, so Miami's offense should score at will. It's just a matter of whether Burrow and company can keep pace, especially against the defensive front.

Miami's chances will also be affected by how healthy Tagovailoa really is.

You can find the game on Amazon Prime Video at 8:20 pm eastern time. Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit will be on the call.
