Broncos hire Vikings' assistant GM
The Broncos have become the second team to fill their general manager opening. The team has agreed to a five year deal with Vikings' assistant general manager George Paton.
The Broncos started their search for a new general manager after announcing that John Elway would be moving to a more senior role. After interviewing several candidates, the Broncos settled on Paton seemingly quickly.
Paton has been in the league since 1997 and has been with the Vikings for 14 years-- the last nine as assistant general manager. He is a highly-touted executive and was a strong candidate for many other general manager openings this offseason and in years past.
