Lane Kiffin headed to Ole Miss
The Ole Miss Rebels have settled on a new coach, and it’s a familiar name. Lane Kiffin has agreed to leave Florida Atlantic and go to Oxford.
The 44-year-old Kiffin has had a number of head coaching jobs. These jobs include stints in the NFL with the Oakland Raiders and in college at both USC and Tennessee. He took over at FAU in 2017 after 3 years as the offensive coordinator at Alabama.
In 3 seasons with the Owls, Kiffin’s team was largely dominant. They won 10 games in 2 seasons, including an 11-3 mark (8-0 in conference) during Kiffin’s first season. They have also produced some NFL talent in that time span. This season, they went 10-3 and cruised past UAB for the conference title, which was their second under Kiffin.
ESPN reports the deal will be worth about $4 million per year.
