NFL Conference Championships

This weekend is the NFL conference championships weekend. This means we are only 2 weeks away from the Super Bowl. This year’s playoffs have had some incredible moments and surprising results. It’s all led to this. Here are the matchups that will determine who plays in Miami on February 2.

AFC Championship

#6 Tennessee Titans (9-7) @ #2 Kansas City Chiefs (12-4)

Details: Sunday January 19; 3:05 PM ET, CBS

This game is a rematch from Week 10. Back then, the Titans were struggling to beat bad teams, but shocked the Chiefs and started to roll. Derrick Henry has been a BEAST in the playoffs, and Kansas City had one of the worst run defenses this year. That should keep this one close in another shootout, but I think the advantage in rematches goes to the loser of the first game. Kansas City learns from its mistakes and heads to the Super Bowl. But, again, in very close game.

NFC Championship

#2 Green Bay Packers (13-3) @ #1 San Francisco 49ers (13-3)

Details: Sunday January 19; 6:40 PM ET, FOX

Another rematch from the regular season. San Francisco destroyed Green Bay earlier this season with a dominant performance from their defensive line. As a Lions fan, there’s not much more I like to see than the Packers losing. But as I said before, the advantage in rematches goes to the loser of the first game. Unlike today;s other game, I only expect that advantage to keep this game closer. Green Bay still has Rodgers and a more than capable offense. They need a good performance from their inconsistent defense and offensive line in this one to go to the Super Bowl in their first season without Mike McCarthy. San Fran wins close.
