Raiders hire new defensive coordinator
John Gruden has found his new defensive coordinator. The Las Vegas Raiders are hiring veteran defensive coordinator Gus Bradley to replace Paul Guenther as defensive coordinator.
The Raiders defense was often the source of many losses this season, finishing 30th of 32 during the 2020 season. Guenther was fired after a horrible showing against the Colts basically knocked Vegas out of the playoff hunt.
Bradley has been in the NFL since 2006. He started as the linebackers coach in Tampa Bay before moving on to Seattle as defensive coordinator and forming the "Legion of Boom." The Seattle job led him to become head coach for Jacksonville in 2013.
The Jags had four consecutive losing seasons under Bradley and fired him after 14 games in 2016. He spent 2017-2020 as the defensive coordinator for the Chargers, where he led top defenses in three of his four seasons.
