Seahawks release 2 key veterans
It’s been a busy last couple days for Seattle. Today, they announced two releases of veteran players who have been instrumental to their success: safety Kam Chancellor and wide receiver Doug Baldwin.
Chancellor was one of the leaders of the “Legion of Boom” defense that led the Seahawks to 2 Super Bowl appearances and 1 title. The 4 time pro-bowler has 12 career interceptions and over 600 tackles.
Baldwin has been their best receiver for years, topping 1000 receiving yards twice with 2 pro bowl appearances and 49 career touchdowns.
Both players suffered career threatening injuries in recent seasons and were released under the “failed physical” designation.
