Thursday Night Football: Week 4

This week's Thursday night game features the Denver Broncos (0-3) and the New York Jets (0-3). The game will be played at MetLife Stadium and can be seen on NFL Network at 8:20pm ET.

The Broncos come into this one after playing some really good teams this season. They lost close games to the Steelers and Titans, but lost QB Drew Lock and WR Courtland Sutton. Without those guys last week, they had no chance against Tampa Bay. TE Noah Fant is the team's leading receiver so far, and RB Melvin Gordon leads the team in rushing. RB Philip Lindsay has a chance to return from injury this week, so we'll see how they spliit those carries. QB Brett Rypien is making his first career start. The Jets defense has given up a lot of points this year, so this may be a good game to get the offense going.

The Jets have given up points and struggled to score. The offense has scored just 37 points combined through 3 games (1 more than they gave up to the Colts on Sunday). Le'Veon Bell is out once again, so that means leading rusher Frank Gore will carry the load in the backfield. Sam Darnold has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns this year bus doesn't have much at his disposal. WRs Braxton Berrios and Jamison Crowder are his top 2 receivers. I'm not saying they're bad players, but that combo isn't exactly overwhelming opposing defenses. The Broncos defense has allowed opposing QBs to have some good games, so maybe Darnold gets going. They've also allowed 2 100 yard rushers this season. The Jets don't have an offensive unit that capitalizes on much, but the opportunity should be there tonight.
