Thursday Night Football Week 7
Tonight's game features two teams from the NFC (L)East: the Eagles and the Giants. The teams have just two combined wins on the year, yet are still in the mix to win their division.
Philadelphia comes in at 1-4-1 on the season with a tie against the lowly Bengals and a win over San Francisco. The Eagles are a tough team to figure out. They've gotten behind early in games and haven't played a well for a full four quarters. Through key injuries ( Zach Ertz, Miles Sanders, Dallas Goedert, etc.), it has been tough for the offense to generate much. In recent weeks, Travis Fulgham has stepped up as a reliable receiver. With most of their top players out for this week, Carson Wentz will have to rely on him and running back Boston Scott to help carry the offense. The defense should have a solid game since the Giants aren't a very explosive offense yet.
The Giants come into this one at 1-5; the lone win coming last week against Washington by a point. They aren't a good team, but they are better than their record. Aside from the 49ers game, they haven't been blown out. They held the Rams to just 17 points, cam close against the somehow 5-1 Bears, and went toe to toe with the Cowboys offense--granted it wasn't against a good defense. That kind of unpredictability gives them a chance.
The game can be seen on Fox and the NFL Network at 8:20 PM eastern time.
